Teen Vogue’s trick:Pajamas to Prom

Fashionista’s X-file from persundresses.com
prom dress Imagine this: you and your girls show up on night looking like you just attended a party with the cast of Gossip Girl and everyone’s like…Damn. Then who’s to blame? High fashion and the spring runway, of course.
1. A trick starts…
If prom fashion rules are meant to be broken then this year could buck the trend more than usual. According to Teen Vogue’s April 2012 prom issue, one look for high school’s major red carpet moment this year is menswear-inspired pajama looks.
But this is just a trick played by Teen Vogue: convince all the gullible girls to show up to prom in their PJ’s. “Those long, puffy tulle skirts are like a costume. I personally wouldn’t be caught dead in a fairy tale–style prom dress.”

Jane Keltner de Valle, Teen Vogue’s fashion news director, does her part to foster the insane charade by suggesting that girls might want to hit up their local Victoria’s Secretfor “silky pajamas” (-y being the operative morpheme; those pajamas are polyester) and notes that “sticking to classic or muted colors is best.”

She also suggests polishing up the bedtime look with “red lips, heels and festive jewels,” for a fun Grey Gardens-type look.

2. De facto…

But persundresses.com finds out that the real Vogue has already stopped caring about formal pajamas since months ago. Now the focus is technofabrics that bring Space Age sparkle to classic ladylike silhouettes. And, while formal pajamas do have a place in society—formal slumber parties, for instance—that place is very, very far away from the dance floor of young prom.

In fact, the only celebrity wearing pajamas in the adore mentioned slideshow is Jessica Alba, at the My Bloody Valentine: 3D premiere, in 2009.

Happily, there is one hero in this story, doing her best to steer young fashionistas straight: the model whose pajama-clad image graces the write-up on the Teen Vogue website.

Those paid to hawk this ludicrous pajama trend are now noticing it’s per se a clumsy trick.

3.Tips to girls:
You may be one of the impressionable teens now seriously considering formal sleepwear to your prom. But you may have no idea that the real cool girls aren’t getting their prom tips from Teen Vogue. They’re getting them from real Vogue. And you know what? It may turn out to be a cool idea if you can pull off a tux as well as Janelle Monáe.

Here are some “prom-ready-to-wear” looks it suggested:

the top wedding dresses designer and her wedding dresses

Today, our topic is about one of the top wedding dresses designer called Monique Lhuillier. Also we will go to enjoy her latest great works. Whether you are married or not, you can always enjoy beautiful items here.
Monique Lhuillier creations in bridal dresses are so distinctive and are creative, which are expertly crafted. You will be surprised to know that she is in the designing field since age 11. The designer grew in Philippines and she is the daughter of a determined and ambitious mother, who designed the best clothing for children. With the help from local couturiers, the girl Diane Monique Llamas Lhuillier used to design dresses for herself.

While it took another fifteen years for this girl to design bridal attire, where she took a degree from a design school and understood the requirements for a perfect bridal dress for her own wedding late back in 1955. The great design for her wedding is due to the frustration by the unchangeable choices that were made by the wedding designing companies. When she personally experienced all the feelings and desires as a bride, she thought of making a bridal collection and slowly started her bridal fashion creations. The following year, she debuted her first collections. Soon she was recognized by the press and by the fashion industry and slowly many orders came in while she was 25. Soon after, she has started her own company in unique bridal collections and became a start in the industry.

As usual this year she did the same exceptional, unique and trendy designs. She says that she always prefer to celebrate love and life, which inspires her all the time. Delicate embroideries with lace, leaves, Petals, all make classy appearances in the best “Floral Fantasy” collection.

Some of her notable designs include the striking and modern primrose, which is an ivory strapless taffeta with sweetheart drop down wedding gown with a skirt that is hand tufted and the delicate Lumiere, which is an ivory embroidered with a horsehair drop down with Chantilly lace strapless and with a trimmed ruffle skirt. The sense of beauty and the ethereal whimsy were beautifully depicted in this year’s collections, as is her skill in emphasizing the beauty of the brides. She also had some billowing ball gowns, A-lines and the trumpet silhouette became very strong in this seasons collections.

How To Deal With Wedding Duds

Today, we are going to discuss the topic of how to deal with wedding duds. In order to organize a wonderful wedding ceremony, brides and grooms should have a careful plan before the big even. Brides can DIY their wedding dresses and her bridesmaid’s special occasion dresses. First of all, let’s enjoy several well design Persun dresses.

Dye It
That crazy hue was so not you. Thanks to liquid or powder dye you can transform any unflattering shade into a color you can wear and pair your favorite shoes with. Bright, bold colors are big right now, so don’t be afraid to dye a white gown or light-colored dress generously. Adding effects like ombré or color blocking will make your clothes more current, unlike your typical tie-dye project from the ’90s. Don’t let the fabric fool you. Even silk can dye beautifully when using a Procion or acid dye.
Separates Are a Girl’s Best Friend

Think outside of the dress. If the silhouette or cut of the frock did not flatter your body, alter it into separates. Maxi skirts are popular right now, so if a dress was a bit long, add a waist. If the dress had a great flounce, a circle skirt or A-line is a classic for dressier occasions. Tackle the challenge of using your dress fabric to make a pencil skirt, as those will never go out of style.
Parts of a Whole
Sometimes it’s all in the details. While your dress may have been blah overall, it may also possess beautiful appliqué, beadwork or another element you actually wouldn’t mind wearing again. So do just that. Cut out the fabric around the details you like and add them onto another outfit or an accessory. I’ve seen gorgeous headbands made from bridesmaid dress beadwork, handbags and even shoes that have dazzled from detail-oriented alterations. Since jewelry is all the rage right now, you can even buy basic jewelry-making materials to turn the desired dress component into a necklace or fabric cuff. Turning a trimming into a piece of jewelry is a great keepsake or meaningful gift as well.
Make the Cut
For a highly stylized new look, chop off more than one section. For tiers, play with chiffon or other lightweight fabrics to create layers that really move. If you’re adding a slit, you can go daring (like Angelina Jolie at the Oscars) or add an underlay of another favorite fabric to really pop and peek out. Turning long sleeves into cap sleeves with a nice flutter is a great way to balance an outfit’s proportion. Altering the neckline by making a sweetheart shape or adding a camisole beneath a strapless frock will make you feel more comfortable. Remember to cut your dress in a way that will show off your best assets.
A Little Something Extra
Manipulating material to make a piece that goes the extra mile can make a dress worth its cost. Consider changing out the buttons for rhinestone ones or adding rosette trim to make a dress more Spring-appropriate. Add a petticoat of tulle underneath for volume or a vintage slip for a romantic look. If your wedding wear is a solid one-piece, then there is no excuse to not infuse some fun to make it more wearable.
With Pinterest, online patterns, and downloads, there is no shortage of inspiration and tools to help make your vision a reality. Don’t be afraid to get crafty and DIY a dress to suit your tastes and needs. In this economy, clothing can be a major investment, so you might as well get your money’s worth.
