The topic of this blog entry is about the fashionable wedding theme in 2012. The brides can regards them as reference with a prefect formal dresses. Wedding themes can be a difficult choice for brides-to-be. Details editor Sophie Hodge talks about her favourite theme ideas for 2012.
Vintage
This ever-popular theme shows no sign of disappearing in the coming year, with many of our real-brides incorporating aspects of the vintage trend in to their day. Lace, birdcages, special occasion dresses and brooch bouquets are but a few of the charming details used to achieve this look. We love!
Seaside
This is a great theme for weddings by the coast, and can be easily adapted to suit your style. From nautical stripes, to vintage postcards, this scheme can be as bright or subtle as you like. I love the way real-bride Vikki added a vintage edge to her seaside wedding, as pictured here.
1920s
With the film The Great Gatsby hitting our screens later in 2012, this theme is set to be huge this year and is one of my personal favourites. Think feathers, glamour and Art Deco for an elegant theme.
Monochrome
For a city-chic celebration, black and white are the perfect combination. Stylish and timeless, these shades mixed with a bit of sparkle are stunning for a civil ceremony.
Village fete
What better way to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere at your wedding than with a country-casual vibe? High tea, bunting, vintage icecream vans, lemonade stands, handpicked flowers, and giant garden games – just a few of the reasons we love this theme! If you’re hoping for a DIY wedding then this is the perfect theme for you, as handmade details are the key to achieving the perfect village fete look.
Princess perfect
Blush pink is the ultimate way to pretty up your party. Mix with gold and ivory and you have a match made in heaven.
Sparkle and shine
If you love a bit of bling, why not add some sparkle to your big day? Mix silver and white tones with diamante, crystals and candelabra for a glitzy celebration. This look not only adds a bit of glamour, but works perfectly in winter, too. The silvery white tones of blooms such as Gypsophila are perfect used on their own for table centres and bouquets, and are predicted to be the flower of 2012.
Gold
For a sumptuous scheme, gold is the must-have shade. Used on it’s own, gold can add a regal feel to your day, and is so versatile it mixes beautifully with practically every other colour!
Summer Brights
Wow your guests with a bold and beautiful array of contrasting colours! Gorgeous at summer celebrations or even tropical weddings abroad, bright shades are the ideal way to add personality to your day. Fuchsia, aqua blue, yellow and green are just a few colours you could use to mix things up…
Purple
One of the all-time favourite wedding colours, purple is big news again for 2012. This colour will see you from summer right through to winter by simply mixing up the shades. Lilac tones work beautifully in spring, while dark aubergine tones are perfect for autumn. For a hot summer look, mixing purple with lime green or orange will give your celebration a real pop of colour. And for winter weddings, teaming purple with white and sparkle is an on-trend alternative to traditional red.
